Thousands of aspiring healthcare professionals can now apply for admission to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) after the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) officially opened applications for the September 2026 intake.

According to KUCCPS, prospective students seeking admission into KMTC pre-service programmes have until August 11, 2026, to submit applications through the KUCCPS Student Portal.
Applicants seeking admission into in-service and upgrading programmes, however, have been directed to submit their applications through the official KMTC Admissions Portal.
The placement exercise is expected to fill vacancies across KMTC's numerous campuses nationwide as demand for trained healthcare professionals continues to rise.
Education officials have urged applicants to complete their applications before the deadline to avoid missing placement opportunities.
KMTC Warns Against Fake Admission Notices
The latest intake comes shortly after KMTC dismissed a fake admission poster that had been circulating online, misleading prospective students into believing applications had already commenced.
The fraudulent notice advertised admissions into programmes including Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Radiography, Medical Engineering and Public Health, among other health courses.
KMTC cautioned applicants against relying on unofficial social media posts, warning that fraudsters often exploit admission periods to target unsuspecting students.
The college has advised all applicants to verify admission information only through official KUCCPS and KMTC platforms.
Demand for Medical Training Continues to Rise
KMTC remains Kenya's largest public institution for training middle-level healthcare professionals, producing graduates who serve in hospitals, health centres and other medical facilities across the country.
The institution offers certificate, diploma and higher diploma programmes in disciplines including Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Public Health, Nutrition, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Community Health.
