KUCCPS says processing of university and college transfer letters is still ongoing, assuring affected students that the documents will be generated automatically once ready.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has moved to reassure students who are yet to receive transfer letters after applying to change their university or college placements.
The placement agency said processing of the letters is still underway and asked applicants to regularly check their student portals for updates.
“The processing of the transfer letters is ongoing. The letter will be generated automatically for download by the applicant through the student portal as soon as it is ready,” KUCCPS said.
Students whose transfer requests are approved will be able to download their letters directly from the portal once processing is completed.
Students awaiting transfer letters should keep checking their KUCCPS portals as processing continues ahead of university reporting dates nationwide.
Students Raise Concerns Over Delayed Letters
The update comes amid growing concerns among students who applied to change their institutions but remain uncertain about where they will report.
Several applicants have sought clarification from KUCCPS as universities prepare to begin admitting students for the new academic year.
The delays have created anxiety for students who need their transfer letters to confirm their new institutions before making arrangements for accommodation, fees and travel.
KUCCPS has nevertheless assured applicants that the processing has not been abandoned and that successful applicants will receive their letters through the student portal.
KUCCPS Transfer Deadline Already Passed
The concerns emerged shortly after the deadline for inter-university transfers elapsed on August 14.
The transfer window allowed students dissatisfied with their initial placements to request consideration for alternative universities or colleges.
Applicants were required to submit their requests before the deadline, after which KUCCPS began processing the applications.
With the transfer window now closed, students are waiting for the agency to complete the remaining stages and release the letters.
Universities Prepare to Receive New Students
The delays come as universities across the country prepare to receive students placed through the KUCCPS system.
The University of Nairobi, for instance, is scheduled to begin receiving newly placed students from August 24, while other institutions are expected to commence admissions later in August and during the first week of September.
The approaching reporting dates have increased pressure on KUCCPS to complete the processing and give students sufficient time to prepare.
Students awaiting transfers have therefore been advised to continue checking their KUCCPS portals rather than making assumptions about their final placements.
What Students Should Do
Students who applied for transfers should regularly log into their KUCCPS student portals and check whether their letters have been generated.
Once available, the transfer letter can be downloaded and used to confirm the new institution and reporting arrangements.
The agency's latest communication means applicants may have to wait a little longer before receiving their documents, even though the official transfer application deadline has already passed.
