KUCCPS has reassured students awaiting university and college transfer letters that processing is still ongoing, with successful applicants set to download the documents through their portals.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has issued an update to students who applied to change their university or college placements but have yet to receive their transfer letters.
The placement agency said the processing exercise is still ongoing and assured applicants that their letters will automatically become available for download once ready.
“The processing of the transfer letters is ongoing. The letter will be generated automatically for download by the applicant through the student portal as soon as it is ready,” KUCCPS said.
Students have consequently been advised to regularly check their KUCCPS portals for updates on their transfer applications.
Students awaiting transfer letters should regularly check their KUCCPS portals as processing continues, with universities preparing to receive new students before September admissions.
Students Raise Concerns Over Delayed Letters
The clarification comes amid growing concerns among students who are yet to receive confirmation of their new institutions.
Several applicants have sought answers from KUCCPS as universities prepare to begin admitting students for the new academic year.
The delays have created uncertainty for students who need to know their final institutions before arranging accommodation, transport, fees and other requirements.
KUCCPS has, however, maintained that the transfer process has not been abandoned and that successful applicants will receive their letters through the student portal.
KUCCPS Transfer Deadline Already Passed
The concerns emerged shortly after the KUCCPS inter-university transfer application period ended on August 14.
The transfer window provided students who were dissatisfied with their initial placements an opportunity to request consideration for alternative universities or colleges.
Students were required to submit their applications before the deadline, after which KUCCPS began processing the requests.
With the application period now closed, applicants are waiting for the placement agency to complete the processing and issue the relevant transfer documents.
Universities Prepare to Admit New Students
The delay comes as universities across Kenya prepare to receive students placed through the KUCCPS system.
The University of Nairobi is scheduled to begin receiving newly placed students from August 24, according to its admission notice.
Other universities are also expected to admit students toward the end of August and during the first week of September, based on the Ministry of Education calendar.
The approaching reporting dates have therefore increased pressure on KUCCPS to finalise the transfer process and give affected students adequate time to prepare.
What Students Should Do
Students who applied for transfers have been advised to continue checking their KUCCPS student portals for confirmation and transfer letters.
Once generated, the letters will be available for download through the portal and will provide applicants with the details of their new institutions.
Students should also avoid making premature travel or accommodation arrangements based on unconfirmed transfers.
The latest update means applicants may need to wait longer for their documents even though the official transfer application deadline has already passed.
For thousands of students preparing to begin university, the letters will provide the final confirmation needed to start planning for their next stage of education.
